What is ghostwriting?Ghostwriting is the process by which one person (the author) hires another (the ghostwriter) to create a manuscript, essay, journal, blog, etc. on their behalf. Ghostwriters are paid but do not receive credit. A ghostwriter’s name does not appear on the book. In fact, many times, a confidentiality agreement is signed prior to the start of the project wherein the ghostwriter promises not to divulge their involvement with the content. Ghostwriting is common because the writing process can be time consuming and intimidating.
